THE DETAILED ITINERARY OF 14 DAY VIETNAM, COMBODIA & LAOS FAMILY TOUR

DAY 1: HCMC ARRIVAL.OVERNIGHT IN HCMC

Welcome to Vietnam! The land of unique culture and stunning natural view! Upon your arrival, your local tour guide will welcome you at the airport then escort you to hotel by private car. Check in hotel and be relaxed at leisure from the long international flight.

DAY 2 : EXPLORE CU CHI TUNNELS & HALF DAY HCM CITY TOUR.OVERNIGHT IN HCMC (B,L)

Enjoy a half day tour to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels in the morning. The Cu Chi tunnel was built during the war time by the Vietnamese for fighting with enemies, but nowadays it has become an interesting and fun place for tourists. Your kids will have fun in discover the complicated tunnel system in the forest.

Afternoon, we visit Reunification Palace formerly known as Independence Palace, built on the site of the former Norodom Palace, is a landmark in Ho Chi Minh City.

Continue to visit City Hall, Ho Chi Minh Monument and Central Post Office which was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the early 20th century.

Right nearby, you can see Notre Dame Cathedral, a magnificent building located in the heart of the city and was established by French colonists. This cathedral was constructed between 1863 and 1880. It has two bell towers, reaching a height of 58 meters (190 feet).

Back to your hotel & be relaxed at leisure.

DAY 3 : DAY TRIP TO MEKONG DELTA – HCMC.OVERNIGHT IN HCMC (B,L)

Travel to Vinh Long, a province located in the Mekong River Delta of southern Vietnam.

Upon arrival, take a boat trip to explore the colorful Cai Be floating market, where you can observe all of busy trading activities of local traders with several kinds of agricultural product from one boat to another. You then continue the cruise to a local factory to visit and learn how pop rice, pop corn, rice paper and coconut candies are made. You also have an opportunity to taste these products served with hot green tea.

Returning to the boat for an excursion to Dong Hoa Hiep Island and discover the beautiful and peaceful sceneries together with the typical life of the region along the Mekong River.

After lunch in local restaurant, enjoy a stroll along the narrow canals before driving back Saigon.

Stay overnight in HCMC.

DAY 4 : FLIGHT TO NHA TRANG – LEISURE ON BEACH. OVERNIGHT IN NHA TRANG CITY(B)

Morning is free at your own for shopping until time transfer to airport to take a short flight to Nha Trang.

On arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel and free for beach relaxation.

Stay overnight in Nha Trang.

DAY 5 : NHA TRANG-LEISURE ON THE BEACH.OVERNIGHT IN NHA TRANG CITY (B)

Free at leisure to enjoy the beautiful beach, sunshine and fun activities on the beach or go to the Vinpearl Amusement Park in the Vinpearl Land – in Vietnam we call it “ Disneyland of the Pearl island”.

DAY 6 : NHA TRANG FLIGHT TO HANOI, CAR TRANSFER TO HALONG BAY.OVERNIGHT IN HALONG CITY (B,L)

Enjoy relaxing time in the morning until pick up and transfer to airport for onward flight to Hanoi.

On arrival, pick up and transfer to Halong city. Halong translates as ‘where the dragon descends into the sea’, and legend claims the islands of Halong Bay were created by a great dragon from the mountains. As it charged towards the coast, its flailing tail gouged out valleys and crevasses. When it finally plunged into the sea, the area filled with water, leaving only the pinnacles visible.

Stay overnight in Halong city.

DAY 7 : HALONG BAY EXPLORATION & HANOI VISIT. OVERNIGHT IN HANOI CITY (B,L)

Morning we will board our cruise and begin enjoy a five-hour cruise on the stunning bay, stopping along the way to visit to the most beautiful cave named Sung Sot (Amazing cave). Climbing steep stairs to explore huge chambers adorned with stalactites and stalagmites of all kinds.

Continue to enjoy this relaxing cruise through the fairyland-like landscape.

Then we head back to Ha Long harbor and our waiting vehicle will transfer us back to Hanoi.

On arrival, visit Ngoc Son Temple which is located at the northern end of Sword Lake. From the shore, walking on the Welcoming Morning Sunlight Bridge leads to the island. Admire buildings of the temple, including the Pen Tower, the ink-slab, the Moon Contemplation Pavilion and the Pavilion against Waves, all of which have symbolic meaning.

Enjoy a water puppet show. Water puppetry – ” puppets that dance on water”- is a tradition that dates back as far as the 11th century when it originated in the villages of the Red River Delta area of northern Vietnam. Today’s Vietnamese water puppetry is a unique variation on the ancient Asian puppet tradition.

Stay overnight in Hanoi.

DAY 8 : FULL DAY VISIT TO HANOI CITY & BAT TRANG CERAMIC VILLAGE. OVERNIGHT IN HANOI CITY (B,L)

In the morning, we start our day tour by visiting Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum . The mausoleum is the last resting place of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s great revolutionist. It is a symbol of gratitude and respect of Vietnamese people for president Ho Chi Minh.

Closed by, the famous One Pillar Pagoda which is built of wood on a single stone pillar 1.25 m in diameter. It is designed to resemble a lotus blossom, which is a Buddhist symbol of purity, since a lotus blossoms in a muddy pond.

After that, continue to visit the Temple of Literature (Vietnamese name is Quoc Tu Giam) – The Vietnam’s first University, which was built in 1070 in honor of Confucius, his followers and Chu Van An, a moral figure in Vietnamese education.

Enjoy a cyclo tour around Hanoi Old Quarter before ending at local restaurant for lunch.

Afternoon, visit Bat Trang ceramic village, the village is 13 km southwest of Hanoi center, on the other side of the Red River. The village was said to be established in 14th century and the village is famous for ceramic and pottery products of high quality. The village specialized in large – scale pottery and porcelain production using traditional methods.

Stop at a small family factory to see how they manufacture their products. Watch the artisans form, paint and glaze their products and you will have a chance to practice your talent with wet clay and a mould. Or you can join the drawing class in the factory.

Back to Hanoi for stay overnight.

DAY 9 : HANOI FLIGHT TO LUANG PRABANG & SOME SIGHTSEEINGS.OVERNIGHT IN LUANG PRABANG (B)

Free time for shopping or optional visit before transfer to the airport for flight to Luang Prabang.

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to hotel. Luang Prabang has been claimed by the UNESCO to be ‘the best preserved city in South East Asia’.

During our time here, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai, we then climb up to the top of mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River.

From there, we explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textile made by local and hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

Overnight in Luang Prabang

DAY 10 : LUANG PRABANG – PAK OU CAVES.OVERNIGHT IN LUANG PRABANG (B,L)

Today, we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture.

We then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as explore the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims.

Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine.

On return, we take a short drive to Ban Phanom, a small village known for its hand weaving.

DAY 11 :LUANG PRABANG – KHOUANGSI WATER FALL . OVERNIGHT IN LUANG PRABANG (B,L)

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession.

From there you will visit the morning Phosi Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.

Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today you will visit a local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village, then drive to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails.

We return to the city to observe the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.

Overnight in Luang Prabang

DAY 12 :LUANG PRABANG – FLIGHT TO SIEM REAP. OVERNIGHT IN SIEM RIEP (B)

After breakfast,you have free time to explore the town and stroll around the shopping area until time transfer to airport for a departure flight to Siem Reap.

Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check in and then take a short city tour to visit Prasat Kravan with its unique brick sculptures and Ta Prohm.
One of the area’s most beautiful temples, Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Its appeal lies in the fact that, unlike the other monuments of Angkor, it was abandoned and swallowed by the jungle, looking very much the ways most of the Angkor temples appeared when European explorers first stumbled upon them and the mountain-temple of Pre Rup until sunset.

DAY 13 :SIEM REAP – FULL DAY ANGKOR TEMPLE. OVERNIGHT IN SIEM RIEP (B,L)

In the morning, visit the South Gate (with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk), the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century), Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara), the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Afternoon, visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat’s five towers symbolize Meru’s five peaks – the enclosed wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world and the surrounding moat, the ocean beyond.

DAY 14 :SIEM REAP VISIT TONLE SAP LAKE – DEPARTURE(B)

Morning visit the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Take a traditional wooden boat for a ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake”of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia.

Transfer to Siem Reap International Airport for departure flight home.
